In 1999 a Ghanaian businessman and entrepreneur – Mr. Wallace Brown - resolved to develop a manufacturing enterprise based on local and sustainable resources, and which would not be affected by any currency fluctuations or importation restrictions.

After comprehensive market reviews it was decided to investigate the feasibility of a clay based enterprise, and to this end CMS was contacted.

Visits to Ghana were undertaken by the principal consultant, Mike Coventry, to investigate the raw materials and local infrastructure facilities.

As a result of intensive studies of clay deposits and numerous technical ceramic inputs, combined with relevant Ghanaian expertise premises were obtained. Mains services were then installed or expanded, strategic manufacturing equipment was sourced within the EU and exported to Ghana, and commissioning commenced, with ‘on the job’ training being carried out alongside.
