Dominican Pottery SA

Dominican Pottery SA is located in the 'free port' of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic.

It was established approximately 25 years ago to manufacture large terra cotta planters and vases for export to USA. The company changed hands several times due to production and marketing difficulties, and eventually ceased trading for a while several years ago.

It has recently been re-activated by Snr. Eduardo Bogaert (President) and family who now hold all the equity. It is a substantial manufacturing operation with great potential to satisfy the terra cotta / garden centre requirements of the Eastern Seaboard of USA.

Severe manufacturing problems within the company, coupled with inexperience in the utilisation of local minerals caused concern for the long term viability of the operation, and requests for assistance were made to Centre for Industrial Development, (CDI) Brussels.

Three missions have been completed to date, with a further mission scheduled around mid 2000.
